Alocasia sanderiana
A striking plant from the Araceae family featuring glossy dark-green, wavy-edged leaves with contrasting light-green veins.
Care Tips
Alocasia sanderiana is native to the tropics of the Philippines where the climate is warm and humid. Still, it is a fairly forgiving plant that tolerates a range of conditions. A healthy and thriving Alocasia sanderiana will need:

- plenty indirect sunlight. At least a few feet away from east-west facing windows, for example.

- the highest humidity you can give it. A pebble tray, humidity-loving neighbors, and light mistings will go a long way.

- well draining, but moist soil. Take note that nurseries use a 2:2:3:2 ration of sod, peat, humus, and sand to grow this plant en masse. Try to get as close to this ratio of organic matter and sand as you can.

- regular feeding (1-2 times a month) with all-purpose fertilizer during the warmer months.
