Caladium lindenii
A striking plant from the
Araceae family
featuring dark green, arrow-head leaves with contrasting cream-colored veins.
Care Tips
Caladium lindenii is native to the tropics of Colombia and Panama where the climate is warm and humid. Still, it is a fairly forgiving plant that tolerates a range of conditions. A healthy and thriving Caladium linenii will need:
- plenty indirect sunlight. At least a few feet away from east-west facing windows
- a pebble tray, humidity-loving neighbors, and light mistings during warmer months will help maintain humidity, especially if indoors
- as with most potted plants, well draining soil. I recommend adding perlite, bark, or any other soil amendment that improves aeration
- regular feeding (1-2 times a month) with all-purpose fertilizer works fine, but try compost tea as it will also lower the soil pH which Caladiums prefer
