Epipremnum aurum
Perhaps one of the most common houseplants in the United States. Known as the Golden Pothes, the Epipremnum aurum is a tropical plant from the
Araceae family
featuring variegated leaves of dark green and faint yellow.
Care Tips
Epipremnum arurm grows wild in too many place to list, but was originally discovered on the Island of Mo’orea, next to Tahiti. The reason it is so popular is because it is so easy to take care of. A healthy and thriving pothos will need:
- plenty of indirect sunlight. While it can tolerate direct sun, after a while you may start to notice scorched leaves
- a pebble tray, humidity-loving neighbors, and light mistings during warmer months will help maintain humidity, especially if indoors
- as with most potted plants, well draining soil
- regular feeding (1-2 times a month) with all-purpose fertilizer works fine.
